Our learning week is continuing and yesterday Year 6 created a fantastic recipe for the perfect learning partner. This was turned into an agreement that will be displayed and referred to throughout the year.
It is wonderful to be back together as a school community. This week is Learning Week, where each class will spend time reflecting on their learning behaviour in preparation for the new school year. Yesterday, learners focused on the qualities needed to be an effective learner.
What a fantastic few days Year 6 have had celebrating the end of their time at Marsden. After the disco yesterday, we had a lovely whole school assembly this morning, where awards were presented and fond memories shared. We wish Year 6 all the best as they move to high school.
It was a pleasure to welcome Curry on the Street to collect the first of our harvest. A huge thanks to everyone who contributed — especially Paddy from BPAC, whose knowledge and expertise have been invaluable.
Today we hosted our ‘Marsden’s Got Talent’ show, and what an incredible event it was! A huge well done to everyone who performed — and congratulations to the winning acts!
Another round of harvesting took place yesterday. This time, a group of learners from Year 3 supported Paddy in picking potatoes and garlic.
Today we welcomed @helenbingley1 to school to collect some of our library books. They will be taken to the schools Helen has help set up in Pakistan and will support the children with their education.
This month's Webinar from the Mental Health Support Team will take place on Thursday 17th July at 6pm via teams and the theme is : Understanding low mood. Please see the attached poster for all the information.
This Friday, we’re staging Marsden’s Got Talent. All the acts have been working hard practising their routines with Miss Brett and we are really excited to see the show. Good luck to all the acts.

Yesterday some of our Year 4 learners harvested our first batch of potatoes. It was wonderful to see all the hard work done in previous months pay off. This has truly been a whole school effort from bed building to planting, weeding and watering.
This term, Mrs MacQuarrie has introduced a range of new toys and equipment for learners to play with during break times. It’s been a huge success and lots of fun has been had.
Our Year 5 learners took part in the Lancashire Sings music programme this year, culminating in a fantastic joint performance with six other schools. It was wonderful to see their hard work shine through in such a confident and polished showcase!
What a fantastic afternoon we had yesterday at our Summer Fair. Thank you to all who attended and helped make it a huge success.

It’s sports day season at school! Learners have had a fantastic time competing in teams and showing great sportsmanship. The overall winners will be revealed soon. A big thank you to all the parents who came to cheer and support!

Today we welcomed former High Sheriff of Lancashire, @helenbingley1 into school. She spoke to learners about the fantastic work her foundation is doing in rural Pakistan, where she has helped to improve the lives of some of the world’s poorest people through education and health.
Year 5 had a fantastic time at Blackpool Zoo yesterday.
Recently, Year 5, along with their parents, took part in a sustainability workshop run by Mrs Fisher. Everyone worked together to produce a collage displaying important messages about looking after our community and planet. Thank you to all parents who attended.
