Tight Psoas Muscle- The best place to release a tight Psoas is by finding the ASIS (the lump at the front of the ilium) and going down one inch, then medial one inch. You should be on the Pubic bone now and rub up into the abdomen where it is sore for only 30 seconds. It works.

Metatarsalgia- Pain at the base of the Toes. Usually a result of excess loading of the middle Toes due to poor loading of the first and fifth toes, where most of the load should occur.

Tight Gastrocnemius/ Calf- Typically considered a muscle problem or short Achilles’ tendon. Just maybe that is the secondary effect of an ankle out of place that just needs to be restored to its normal position.

Neutral Position- The optimal Position of the foot to be able to adapt to terrain. It requires less energy and effort to function around this foot angle. Performance usually increases when Orthotics are truly made to these congenital angles of the feet.

22. Toe Exercises- Toe function is essential to good foot balance and stability. Try placing a mild rubber band around all of the toes and spreading them apart. Most middle aged people can’t do this. Can you?

A Good Shoe- Has two required characteristics and functions. It must flex at the Ball of the foot and not further back. It must have a firm Heel Counter around the back of the shoe that supports the calcaneus.

20. Functional Hallux Limitus- It is an inability of the big Toe to dorsiflex while under load. It creates a shorter less efficient stride and feels like your trying to walk or run with the parking break on.

Boot Hill- The name of the cemetery in many western movies. It wasn’t until about 1906 that shoes and boots were made to right and left shapes. Breaking them in was a couple week painful process. Therefore cowboys wanted to go into the after life with the boots they had on.
