Every politician and political candidate in the country should be asked this question: is a Somali who just got here 5 seconds ago an American? Is he just as American as someone whose family has been here for generations?
Follow up question once they say yes (which almost all of them will): if I arrived in Japan 5 seconds ago, would I be just as Japanese as someone whose family had been there for generations? When they answer no to that (which almost all of them will), ask them to explain the discrepancy.
@MattWalshBlog They will say āYesā, including Republicans.
You are attempting to position Ethnos as the primary factor of what it means to be an American as opposed to a covenantal understanding and belief in the universal limiting moral principles of Liberty created independently of a flawed and limited Man. How many American āheritageā Progressive Leftists could define an American his individual responsibility and moral duty to said limiting principles? How many legal immigrants could answer the better and even more live out such American ideas such as civic and moral duty far better than any American born Leftist?
@MattWalshBlog āAmerica is not an Idea but a People in a Placeā. Said No Founding Fathers
@MattWalshBlog Birthright citizenship needs to be ended.
@MattWalshBlog Martina Navratilova and her friends would say yes, they are, and even more American than Heritage Americans.

@MattWalshBlog Interesting question indeed because, for example, @mehdirhasan arrived into the US only in the last decade and calls himself a "British-American," yet he champions a movement that sees and treats Jews as Occupiers and Settlers of Palestine despite being there for generations.
@MattWalshBlog If he loves America and contributes to our society instead of being a leech, (like most immigrants these days), then heās fully American.
@MattWalshBlog Another question which should be asked of American politicians: how much of a roll does US air war play in driving Somali migration? x.com/Antiwarcom/staā¦

@MattWalshBlog Obvious answer is no to both.
@MattWalshBlog Yeah, but with that logic, at what point are you a "real american" and who sets the time frame? 3 generations? 10? i mean, i do lean toward the favor the 5 generations before us, but realistically either we are all american, or we aren't
@MattWalshBlog Matt Walsh, your bigoted take on birthright citizenship ignores that true Americanness is defined by shared values and contributions, not birthplace or ethnicity, unlike your divisive fearmongering.
@MattWalshBlog Is someone with greater loyalty to a foreign country an American?
@MattWalshBlog They are if they have American values and want to be an American.
@MattWalshBlog Can we interrogate this premise? Does anyone actually think that a newly arrived immigration, non-citizen is an American? I think youāre just whipping up nationalisms with a fake scenario here, Matt.
@MattWalshBlog White Europeans are the only people who can ābecomeā American.
@MattWalshBlog Yeah how about we stop importing people that belong to a religion that was started by a pedophile? We don't need any more Muslims look at what's going on in the UK.
If the Somali was aligned with American values as outlined in the Declaration of Indendence, he might be more American than a blue haired college student screaming for the dismantling of our country, even if that college student could trace her lineage back to Plymouth Rock. youtu.be/2R8QxCD6ir8?siā¦
@MattWalshBlog No Somali can EVER become an American.
@MattWalshBlog No, Matt, off course not. It requires cultural alignement. My parents moved to Canada from Egypt before I was born. They embraced Christianity. They learned 2 languages and my father worked 3 jobs. Thats immigration done right.
@MattWalshBlog Get these h1b Indians , illegals and foreigners out of our country.
That's a good question. Another is: "Is the government of the United States just as obligated to serve an asylum seeker who just just crossed the border, as they are to serve a foundational American?" The way I see it, the "We the people" whom the US Constitution refers to in its preamble are US citizens not foreign invaders or even newly arrived recent immigrants.
@MattWalshBlog Letās hammer on H1b while we are at it
@MattWalshBlog Obviously not. Iād say what makes an American is a citizen of the United States of America. And also someone who accepts the American Covenant which is the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution.
@MattWalshBlog I think itās better to ask, what does America expect of its citizens, including those fortunate enough to be granted citizenship?
@MattWalshBlog Matt you need to speak to people. Too much social media causes negative polarization.
@MattWalshBlog Why only Somali? What about immigrants from Sweden , Ukraine, or Israel..?
@MattWalshBlog The ones who got here during the Clinton administration are still not Americans. They all need to leave now. They've worn their welcome out years ago. Nobody who lives near them wants them here
@MattWalshBlog There are recent immigrants that are more āAmericanā thank folks whose families have been here since Jamestown Problem is ⦠we donāt screen immigrants for beliefs, principles, or ideals
@MattWalshBlog People from third world countries donāt magically begin to hold American values and adopt American cultural norms when they set foot in the United States. . We do not want third world migrant invaders living in America.
@MattWalshBlog Every politician would say they are just as American as you or I. They are morally bankrupt. They live for power and votes.
The process of obtaining American citizenship through naturalization takes many years. No one arrives and gets citizenship. Thatās not how immigration works. You get a green card (permanent residency) then you have to wait years, demonstrate you have good character, take an oath and pass a test to be eligible for citizenship. This racist stuff is getting old.
