Another day full of sunshine, with a gorgeous late-morning scene on the campus of UNCW. Temperatures have climbed into the lower to middle 80s on our way to the 90s, with a similar day on Saturday. But a cold front well to the west will bring showers and milder weather on Sunday.

For the first time since August 25, we're back in the 90s this afternoon. It'll be just as sunny but even hotter on Saturday before unsettled weather returns Sunday through next week. Thankfully the rain & passage of a front will drop us back into the lower 80s after the weekend.

There's now a high chance (70%) Gabrielle forms in the next 7 days. Where the system goes after that is still anyone's guess. Some models keep it out to sea, others progress it well west. But with where it would form, we still have 10+ days before it would even approach our area.

This weather gets a thumbs up from me! Low humidity, below average temperatures and lots of sunshine. The only negative is a high rip current risk for east facing beaches and a moderate for south facing beaches. So keep that in mind.
