Notre Dame had no intermediate passing game — not a single completion (or attempt I think) 10–25 yards in the first 3 quarters. That comes back to bite when your new QB has to run a 2-minute drill to win it.

Bryce Underwood looked every bit the part. Sharp, ball pops off his hand, anticipating throws. All their messy pass plays came on sprint outs, which they were probably calling to “protect” their young QB. Doubt they do that in Week 2, he showed he can operate from the pocket.
