Had the DNP cardiologist call me to ask if the patient was shivering and to upload a new EKG. She was right, the patient did look kind of cold. A few blankets later and he fell into a deep, comfortable sleep. I turned the monitor off so the beeping wouldn’t wake him.

I hate having to intervene on a fellow doc’s errors. Yesterday a patient came in feeling poorly, tachy and tremulous. The physician had the nerve to stop their Synthroid. It’s like, helloooo, the TSH is low, not high. Increase the dose! Glad I called the patient to let them know.

But even with all these red flag warning signs, the problem was missed, and patient sent home to die with no recourse for the non-physician practitioner.
Obese pt w/ smoking hx comes to urgent care with CP radiating to his jaw, worse with exertion. Patient was seen by the NP, then d/c'd with vicodin for the chest pain. He died later that night. A BON complaint was filed, yet no action was taken. #AskForAPhysician

@txhealthplans No evidence to support this, but even if true, does that translate to decreased deaths? Or improved outcomes? Just because a patient isn’t coming to the ER or hospital doesn’t mean things are better. Substandard care delays diagnosis, leads to opioid overuse, and bad misses.
@MidlevelCare “Took the MCAT and did okay” translates to didn’t do well enough to get into medical school. No fear though, just become an NP at one of the many 100% acceptance rate NP schools.

4)Something doesn't smell right about this whole idea. Especially in light of the venom that has been directed at AAs by some CRNAs. It appears that they were considered a threat. They won't be if they become CRNAs. I would just advise AAs to proceed with caution. My two cents.
3) "conditional" admission for a professional school. At least not in health care. AAs have a lot of hoops to jump through TBA, OR they can have 1-year experience as an ICU RN. Interesting that they are also required to have a master's degree. Tuition: $1214.00 per credit hour.
