Today @SecGranholm came out to Michigan’s west coast to celebrate the loan to restart 800 MW of clean, baseload power for our state along with @GovWhitmer, @katyhuff, @JoeyforMichigan, and so many supportive workers, community members. It’s a proud day.
Being a part of the historic effort to restart Palisades has been one of the greatest joys of my career. So thankful for @GovWhitmer’s leadership and @SecGranholm’s announcement of a $1.5B conditional loan to get this critical baseload clean energy plant back on the grid! ⚡️
A few years ago, we set out to do what many thought was impossible. After the Palisades Nuclear Power Plant closed, we got to work to save 600 jobs and power 800,000 homes with American-made, clean energy. Today’s announcement brings us one step closer towards making history.
I’m proud to announce this Administration’s support to restart the Palisades Nuclear Plant. Nuclear power is our single largest source of carbon-free electricity. Our support would bring more resilient power to Michiganders while supporting and retaining good-paying union jobs.
A few years ago, we set out to do what many thought was impossible. After the Palisades Nuclear Power Plant closed, we got to work to save 600 jobs and power 800,000 homes with American-made, clean energy. Today’s announcement brings us one step closer towards making history.
