A key point from the HMRC research on income tax rates, which has been completely ignored by the Scottish Government, is that the introduction of a 5-band system led to a net loss of 1,030 higher or top rate taxpayers from Scotland and £60.6 million of lost tax revenue.
@Mike_Blackley @GrahamGGrant You just can’t bear to hear of a Scotland ‘good’ story, can you?
@Mike_Blackley SFC estimates 🏴 income tax changes Vs rUK now raise an extra £1500m per year and you're talking about a £60m loss in a single year 5 years ago based on a highly uncertain estimate You're also omitting that since 2019, net migration to 🏴 is estimated to generate a £200m surplus
@Mike_Blackley We ware being governed by illiterate idiots
@Mike_Blackley Didn’t show up on the old #abacus 🧮
@Mike_Blackley Correlation doesn't imply causation. * * In layman's terms: 'Yer spikkin' shite'.
@Mike_Blackley But we gained £200m. Win/win. 😁
@Mike_Blackley I'm guessing you didn't like the news today about more people coming to Scotland to live than there is leaving 😂😂😂
@Mike_Blackley So what? If they left because they didn’t want to pay tax on their already high salaries then good bloody riddance. A warm welcome to the others who chose to come to live and work in Scotland.
