What comes up, especially if it shoots up really fast, comes down hard eventually. Pierre Poilievre's support is not sustainable. We need the news media to subject him to a harsher far more rigorous evaluation of him as a person.
Yes that is the job and duty of his political opponents and not exclusively the media Absolutely. But the news media does play a role. It has to begin putting Pierre under a closer microscope as opposed to simply broadcasting his messages.
@Mikeggibbs I said this before and I'll say it again - Poilievre is being enabled by the White Men who run the media - because they see Poilievre as "their guy" - just like Doug Ford @Mikeggibbs
@Mikeggibbs I'd settle for a more honest, truthful discussion of current policies like the carbon tax and some attention on the Liberal housing initiatives which are unprecedented in our history... That would shine a more critical light on some of his silly slogans...
@Mikeggibbs That’s the problem - Postmedia wants Poilievre in as PM. I refuse to let that happen when it comes to my vote. We need to start calling out the reporters and shame them harshly. Yup!
@Mikeggibbs Yes. Look what happened to Justin Trudeau .
@Mikeggibbs That’s wishful thinking! The CPC has the media. They have the $$ to dominate ad purchases. They have the change argument. They have a solid base of support that they won’t go below. It’s quite concerning!
@Mikeggibbs There was a time in Hamilton when we had 3 independent radio stations a television outlet that had newscasts and a locally owned and published newspaper. Now we have none of the above. The worse being the vile disgusting talk radio on AM that you can actually smell over the air.
