Experimenting brings novelty. Novelty sustains engagement. Habits help, but committing without an end date just doesnāt work for my ADHD mind.
ADHD story time: I once finished a whole project in 2 daysā¦ then ignored it for 3 months because my brain crashed. Anyone else know this roller-coaster?
ADHD isnāt about starting strong then āfailing.ā Itās about running out of fuel mid-race - and blaming yourself for it. What you need isnāt more discipline. Itās more gentle systems.
ADHD adulthood is just quietly ghosting everyone you love while hyperfixating on a hobby no one knows about.

āJust make it a habitā oversimplifies how much energy, context, and flexibility are really needed. What works better is experimenting, adjusting, and creating structures that support us on the hard days too.
Unfinished notebooks, random craft supplies, and hyperfixation hobby gear that I was definitely going to use when I bought them (and still willā¦ someday).
Wild how no one hears me the first five times I try to join the convo, but the SECOND I put headphones in Iām suddenly āantisocialā and ārude.ā
