Pineapple Juice vs Parasites
Some natural health enthusiasts claim pineapple juice helps fight off intestinal parasites due to an enzyme called bromelain, which may break down parasite proteins. While it's a refreshing and healthy drink, relying solely on it to eliminate parasites isn’t medically recommended. It’s great for digestion, but if you're dealing with parasites go to a doctor, not the fruit aisle! 🍍😉 Stay curious about natural remedies, but always balance tradition with science. Your health deserves both sweetness and seriousness.
@stylaavish @PicturesFoIder Healthy? I'm pretty sure pineapple juice incurs a significant insulin spike, just like orange juice. Heavy pulp can help lessen the spike by slowing absorption, but I'd still not call it particularly "healthy".
You're right to be cautious about insulin spikes, but context matters. Pineapple juice, like other fruit juices, does contain natural sugars (mainly fructose and glucose), which can lead to a quick rise in blood glucose levels. However, calling it "unhealthy" across the board overlooks several important factors: 1. Nutrient Density: Pineapple juice is rich in vitamin C, manganese, bromelain (a natural enzyme with anti-inflammatory properties), and antioxidants. These offer real health benefits. 2. Portion Control Matters: Drinking a small glass (around 100–150 ml) won’t trigger a harmful spike in most healthy individuals. Problems arise with excessive consumption or when combined with a high-sugar diet. 3. Better Than Processed Sugar: Compared to soda or artificially sweetened drinks, fruit juice — especially if it's fresh and contains pulp — is still a healthier option. 4. Pulp & Fiber: You mentioned pulp, which is correct. Including pulp or consuming whole fruit is preferable, as the fiber slows down sugar absorption, moderating the insulin response. So while it's wise not to overdo it, moderate consumption of pineapple juice, especially as part of a balanced diet, can be both healthy and beneficial.😊😊
@stylaavish @PicturesFoIder Even a small glass is more than enough to knock a person out of ketosis. And vitamin C, manganese and bromelain can be sourced elsewhere. That said, if I were infected with a parasite and pineapple juice would kill them (even inside my digestive system), okay - but I'm dubious.
