If you have a pulse and a set of eyes, you've likely seen the mushrooming of businesses offering to buy your gold jewelry and coins at "great rates". Do not sell it. If you want to know if the music is about to stop, all you need is to watch those businesses rear their heads.
Smarter devices or dumber users?
The beef with the later Wittgenstein--as opposed to earlier Ludwig--is that language reveals the depth of reality insofar as its imprecision distorts the meaning of everything around us, physical or otherwise. How can reality be apprehended if its sculpting in words is vague?
The problem with big tech & its transhumanist ethos comes from Hamilton & Price's idea of humans as mere meat vessels for genes. Seeing humans as automata upends morality, politics, and much more. It's not an innocuous idea. Ideas → actions → habits → character → destiny.
Timeline is full of stock market doom & exuberance. Almost psychotic. Whoever is worried about this stuff, just remember that the pain of loss is greater than the pleasure of gain. Don't be greedy. Just keep in mind that people will always eat and get sick. Invest accordingly.
Please consider studying philosophy. It can make you a better person or it can make you a worse person. But it will definitely make you a person.
