Being unwell when you work in a school is such a strange feeling. Felt guilt for calling in sick today, went to the drs where I’ve been prescribed antibiotics and steroids and told to return on Monday if I’m no better and suddenly feel justified? Why is this?

I’m so deeply unsettled by these riots. Worried as a teacher, mother and also as a wife of a police officer. Even more worried to see people almost justifying abhorrent racist attacks? Let’s not pretend these have anything to do with the heinous murders in Southport.

Things that brought me equal joy yesterday - 1. Watching my boy playing on the beach, 2. Watching a couple battle to put a pop up tent away for 20 minutes and it continued to pop back up, resulting in them temporarily throwing it across the sand.
