The worst part of changing my last name is not getting used to the new name, but getting used to saying Mrs. It’s too much of a mouthful. Plus my marriage status is my business. Ms (mz) all the way. Shoutout to all the non-binary teachers who have to think on this from day one.

Boundary examples are becoming an important part of my practice. But my content knowledge can’t keep up! Google or college classes don’t seem to be a complete solution. Where or from whom do you learn 6th-10th grade school math in extreme depth? #iteachmath #Mathematics

Me, trying to hype up state tests: I always found testing kind of fun. Baffled student: Why? They suck. Me: I’m someone that went to school for 17 years and decided to then go be at school permanently so… Yeah, I don’t think it worked.

I’ve tried some starting elements of #buildingthinkingclassrooms in three of my classes all year. I’ve just started implementing it in a fourth class, and wow they are so much more dependent on me. The contrast between the classes really speaks to how much they’ve grown.
