Throwback to August 2023 when we gathered for our Empty Bowls fundraiser. A simple meal, meaningful connections, and handmade bowls—a reminder of hunger in our community. Today, MBT serves 1M meals a year. That’s a lot of bowls to fill—and we couldn’t do it without you.

What is a Food Budget Shortfall? It’s the gap between what food-insecure people have—and what they need—to afford enough food. In Essex County, MA, that gap totaled $69.8 million in 2023 according to @FeedingAmerica. Learn more: map.feedingamerica.org/county/2023/ov…

Hunger comes at a high cost. 89% of food-insecure households in MA also struggle with basics like housing, heat, or medical care (GBFB 2025 Report). It’s dinner or the doctor. Rent or groceries. At My Brother’s Table, we help ease that burden—by serving meals every day.
At MBT, we use a wide range of ingredients to create hot, nutritious meals—always with care and love. Sometimes it’s simple, sometimes it’s a surprise—like this beef & broccoli over fried rice. No matter what's on the menu, every dinner includes a protein, veggie & starch.
