I am pleased to announce that the North Western Railway has been bought by Elon Musk. All our services will soon be fully integrated with Twitter - all you'll need to travel on one of our trains is a North Western Blue subscription (complete with Twitter verification).

The story of Calling All Engines begins in 1974, when the newly formed British Airways approached my father about building a civilian airport on Sodor. They were looking for a local partner to help fund the venture, and as the Island's main transport, we were the natural choice.

Due to the upcoming rail strikes on the Mainland, there will be no connecting trains with Northern at Barrow on the affected dates. The Wild Nor' Wester will not be affected. We apologise to our passengers for the disruption, and are attempting to provide alternative transport.

On behalf of the North Western Railway, I express our deep sadness on the death of HM The Queen. We remember her visits to our island very fondly. The Bishop has announced a memorial service at St Luoc's on Sunday - we are providing free transport to any wishing to attend.

Heat restrictions remain in place today. Free cold refreshments are still being provided, and sunscreen is available at our stations. I myself have removed my morning coat and top hat.

There may be minor delays on the Norramby Branch Line due to the ice cream woman spilling her melted produce across Norramby Beach Station. Please be patient while our staff cleans up the mess. Otherwise, all trains are currently running to time.

Due to the discovery of a cracked cylinder in an inspection today, Henry is to be withdrawn for overhaul. Crovan's Gate hopes to have him repaired by the end of the year.
