During my PhD I beat myself up for not solving a problem. My husband said,“Your standing on the edge of human knowledge, looking out into the darkness, and upset that you can’t see what know one else has seen before.” This strikes that same cord. tinyurl.com/y3ca6u5w

In academia we are having hard time getting and retaining the best people, simply because industry pays them more and gives them better conditions, and this is a worldwide issue. Then, shouldn't we improve the salary and working conditions in academia instead of just complaining?

I love this initiative. My workplace is SUPER supportive of both my husband and I as new parents, but if they weren’t I would surely be leaving (them or the workforce entirely). This helps empowers women to get what they need. #empoweringwomen #workingmama

I really feel story telling is a solid 50% of my job. The rest is empowering the characters and learning their backstory so I can do their story justice. Love the way @nathanbaugh27 lays this out and will definitely apply it!
