If "know the brands" is a great piece of advice, I must be a SAGE for what I do here on Twitter Here is my advice. Go to @eBay and find a few cards of a player you like and buy them, nothing over $50. Avoid breaks, grading, and opening sealed products until you know more about #TheHobby. Baseball Card Pedia, Cardboard Connection, and @tradercracks are great resources; "Influencers" are not. Once you know your way around, start getting into autos, #'d parallels, and the expensive stuff. Do not overextend your budget or credit cards or your stay will be a short one. Buy what makes YOU happy. To my followers on X: What is the BEST advice to give someone looking to start collecting?

@BeisbolCardBlog @eBay If you want to survive long term in the hobby and be able to build an impressive collection... remember, it's not a sprint, it's a marathon. Pick a few cards for your PC. Sell when you get a good offer as most likely it will be the best offer you get.
