I finally got to start to read 'A Pattern Language' by Christopher Alexender and this work is litterally mind blowing. This book is resonating with me on so many level, be it social, technical and philosophical. Thanks @jcoplien for introducing me to this. Astonishing

From my experience, the "backend is already done" project timeline goes something like this: -system data structure is a complete mismatch with the user's mental model -spend several release cycles trying to fix data structure on the UI layer -end up redoing backend anyway

Request for help: Some time ago I came across a uni thesis on the web—maybe from a South American country—that contrasted agile development with waterfall. It concluded that, all else being equal, agile was more expensive but delivered the right thing earlier. Any pointers?
