The mark up for chain grocery stores and other chain stores during #COVID were huge . Record profits as ma and pa stores were closed . They could lower the prices if they wanted .But they won’t ! Not even a nickel 💰
@North2North If you had those companies in your 401k, pension, or personal portfolio you might be happy they were making record profits
@North2North Food prices are borderline criminal, not to mention smaller packages, etc.
@North2North Mike it’s the suppliers. The stores work on volume and make about 1 cent on the dollar.
@North2North Perfect example is PepsiCo, the price of pop and chips , owned by them is crazy! And it directly corresponds to the record setting sales and profits!
@North2North I worked for Dominick’s in high school and loss prevention for Jewel after college. Margins are razor thin-suppliers raised prices.
@North2North Margins for grocery stores are razor thin. Probably 3% or less
@North2North if people had the fortitude prices would come down. I give you the coffee strike of decades ago against the farmers of South America
@North2North You got that right They just screwing their own
