Twitter is a useful tool for Tech Scammers needing to: - Look more legit - Promote their site/number They use hashtags like: - #[Windows/McAfee/etc...]TechSupport Twitter is also a tool to raise awareness of scams. Challenge for today: Post a tweet to raise awareness of #scams

The @NHSuk are sending text messages to some people to invite them to book a COVID-19 vaccine appointment. 📱 Remember, the vaccine is FREE. the NHS will never ask you for payment or banking details in order to receive the vaccine

Scammers will send messages claiming money was taken from your bank. Sometimes, they say the bank name, which isn’t related to you at all. Little signs like these can help spot #scams and #fraud

This is called a #phishing #scam How does it work? The scammers pretend to be your bank, then send you a copycat website.They ask for your details, then steal them, to use them against you. Check for simple signs like the website address or even the bank name. I don’t use HSBC.

This is a @McAfee technical support #scam targeting the United States. However, they can target anyone, anywhere. Never call numbers from pages like these. They’re illegitimate.
