One thing I have learned leaning into a love-based Christian faith: the opposite of love isn't hate, it's fear. Fear breeds hate. But it also breeds subtle forms of harm, like our emotional need for certainty & control that we mask as "just standing up for the truth."

I said to my wife "Do you think anyone will commit suicide because they could not get an abortion?" She instantly replied "yes." Then she added "there will be all those boyfriends and husbands that murder them because they couldn't get one too" and that shook my fucking world.

I really wish people would stop drastically using the scenarios of rape or incest as the sole premise for an abortion. A woman doesn’t have to be in a traumatic situation for it to be reason enough. In fact there is zero explanation that needs to be given.
