Make sure you have several ways to get weather updates. Storms will pass through some areas overnight. Keep your cells phones charges and DON'T turn off the alerts, they can wake you up if needed. Activate your safety plan and be prepared to take cover, no matter the time of day.
Congrats to @EWolffWX on his successful defense using data from IOP2 2022 to examine OTs and other radar signatures to diagnose near-surface vorticity as well as examine updraft and rotation relationships.

The field phase of PERiLS has ended. Thanks to all the participants and communities that welcomed our instruments and people 😃! Now the analysis of the data begins! We will be sharing our findings in the weeks and years to come!
Our hearts go out to all those impacted Friday's tornadoes. Please consider completing this brief survey on your experiences. It'll help us understand how we can improve our warnings to you. bit.ly/3GesW2i Please share this post widely. Thanks! #arwx#qrs
The Rolling Fork/Silver City tornado has received a preliminary EF-4 rating. We still have a great amount of information to process, and we will provide additional details on this tornado as they are finalized.
We will be operating today (Feb 16th) in western Alabama and Eastern Mississippi ahead of and during the potential severe weather threat. Follow along with teams virtually…we will be posting throughout the event. Please stay weather aware!
PERiLS observations start again Feb. 8, 2023, but severe weather can and does happen throughout the cool season. There is a severe weather threat today for the southeast. If you live in the area, please have a plan and stay weather aware.
