If we want virtual reality to reach many more people and be successful companies like sony and microsoft, nintendo too, should allow people to use any XR headset on their consoles and not try to monopolize TVs that go to the eyes.

Eventually after much criticism and pressure playstation opened up to the world, brought their games to PC, not yet to other platforms, open their VR headsets to PC, a great change, but it would be great if their console would allow installation of linux again.

A new vulnerability called ZenBleed affecting AMD CPU zen 2 architecture could affect PS5 and XBOX series AMD processors, hopefully it can be confirmed soon if so, I would like to rename the page to Playstation 5 linux.

Look like that in the linux payloads for the fw > 5.05 are missing @eeply 's patch to set gpu frequencies and pstate. Without that you are lost a lot of gpu performance (e.g. in Unigine Heaven benchmark you lost something like 11-13 fps if no more)

It seems that PS5 will be a good multimedia center capable of emulating PS3/WII U/N SWITCH/360 and running current PC games through linux or from the Orbis OS system itself with a custom firmware. In these difficult times where getting a PC is impossible, this is light for many.

Run ps4fancontrol with sudo: sudo ps4fancontrol Select and save the desidered temperature. To autostart ps4fancontrol at boot of psxitarch (or Arch Linux): sudo systemctl enable ps4fancontrol.service

If you have psxitarch or another Arch based distro, you can install ps4fancontrol from the usual repository, just update the repo: sudo pacman -Syu and install with: sudo pacman -S ps4fancontrol

If you use an AMD GPU with Mesa on Linux or BSD we recommend you update to Mesa 20.2.2: - Mesa 20.2.0 introduces the faster ACO shader compiler as the default compiler for RADV (AMD Vulkan). - Mesa 20.2.2 fixes an ACO vertex explosion bug that affected RPCS3 and older AMD GPUs.
