I’ve been thinking about live verbal storytelling a lot lately and I think one of the keys to good storytelling is conveying the thought process of your main character. It gives you some depth in between exposition and immerses your listeners.

After six years of healing from an unexpected divorce, I’m taking baby steps toward writing fiction again. It’s scary and I’m sooooooo rusty, but it feels amazing. For a long time it felt like that dream was over. So good to find it resilient and waiting for me.

Re-reading The Fountainhead at my manager’s suggestion and it’s punching me right between the eyes metaphorically. I read this book my senior year of high school and wrote an essay about it that won me a scholarship, but I have no memory of it. I’m a literary goldfish.
