It's fitting that Mel and the Rani were in this episode because this might have been the lamest, most weightless, and most random regeneration since 6 to 7. Even 13 getting hit by a laser beam she could've easily dodged beats this one. That one at least had more finality to it.

I don't think this show is worse than it was in the Chibnall era, but seeing a show try and mostly fail two eras in a row is a special kind of exhausting. Like, once is a fluke, but twice is when you realize there's a real problem.

One thing that annoys me the most about the surprise regeneration is that a new Doctor implies Russell's sticking around with her for a few years. I was hoping him and Ncuti would do the typical 3 seasons and dip together.

This 4-note motif is definitely Belinda's theme. It's surprisingly minimal for Gold, and seems to lack any consistent orchestration or even harmonization. It's kind of like how Segun used motifs. Perhaps we'll hear a more defined arrangement as the season progresses.

I hadn’t ruled out the idea of sneaking into this movie when it released so as to not financially support it but still watch it off the off chance it’s good, but it’s pretty clear now that it’ll be morally AND creatively bankrupt, so I’ll probably just be avoiding all together.
