Cllr @rodneyberman has taken up concerns for plot holders at Colchester Ave Allotments. One is that the site shop has been out of action for 10 months due to asbestos. Good news is that after pressure, we've now heard the council hopes repairs can start in 4 weeks' time.

At the most recent meeting of Cardiff Council's Economy & Culture Scrutiny Committee, Cllr Rodney Berman raised concerns about the allotments service after a number of problems had been flagged with him by plot holders at Colchester Avenue Allotments. youtu.be/QybAmu3LdO4

We often get requests to ask the council to cut back trees encroaching on people's properties, but the council often says it won't act. Councillor Berman tabled a question at a recent council meeting asking for this policy to be reviewed. Here's the answer he received. ⬇️

Councillor @rodneyberman has been pushing the council to deal with the leaf mulch and detritus from trees which has now been clogging the gutters and pavements of a number of streets in Penylan for the last few months. ⬇️

‘Well, that’s simply not true. If the council had realised at the time the material it tipped was taxed at the higher rate it clearly wouldn’t have used it and would have ensured it was using soil that only qualified for the lower landfill tax rate.
