In the Dáil today I raised the worsening crisis in the Cork primary care psychology services. Caused by years of severe under-resourcing & compounded by ongoing recruitment restrictions. The answer is an extensive recruitment drive, not 'robbing Peter to pay Paul' redeployment.

@teamsquarepeg Thank you for sharing this. The use of a "calm space" destroyed my child. There was nothing calm about being locked alone in a 6ft by 4ft empty storeroom with no access to a toilet, food or water. In 2018 we started the #RemoveTheRoom and #StandardiseSafeSpaces campaigns.

Disappointed to hear maternity leave & covid blamed for disability service wait lists. If someone going on mat leave or becoming ill & needing sick leave can impact a wait list so catastrophically, the problem was low resourcing in the first instance.
