When he was 9-years old, Ronald McNair was told he couldn't sign out books from a segregated library. He went on to become a Karate champion, earned a PhD in physics from MIT, and became an astronaut with NASA. Today the library is named after him.

The ball-design for this year’s @FIFAWorldCup is called the @adidas “Telstar 18”. Nice. Telstar: World's first communication satellite, launched in 1962 by @NASA for @ATT Bell Labs. Dead but still up there, inspiring spheres the world over.

This long pole is called a “cheater.” It attaches to the end of the pipe wrench for more torque. Longer distance + same force = greater torque.

Many thermally insulating cups have a vacuum seal between inner and outer layers. This means there are no molecules which can carry heat between layers and heat travels across very slowly (only radiation).
