🧵We are 79 soon-to-be Doctors who are supposed to be working in the East Midlands, starting in three months. However, we don't yet know what jobs, hospitals or even which city we will be working in. We are distressed, angry and fed up. [1/2]
We have been told we might not know which mystery city we will have to work in, until 3 weeks before we start working as Drs Follow our stress-filled journey as we scramble for last-minute accommodation & become further disillusioned with the way Drs are treated in the NHS [2/2]
@PlaceholdTrent Have you looked at whether Employment Agency legislation covers your situation? Have a look at schoolofanaesthesia.co.uk/news/game-over… and DM me if you need more information.
@PlaceholdTrent DMs open - send me a msg and I can ask the question
@PlaceholdTrent @thomasdolphin @threadreaderapp unroll please
@PlaceholdTrent That's terrible, a time that should be full of excitement has been turned into a stressful demoralising situation.
@PlaceholdTrent @ShaunLintern @BBCNews @BBCPanorama @Channel4News @Telegraph this is the biggest scandal in healthcare. Doctors being replaced by 2 year trained PAs. Quality of care ACTIVELY being worsened and doctors going unemployed. Why is this not front page news??????
@PlaceholdTrent @ABarotchi1 But think of the freaking breadth of experience you’d get though by rotating between 3-5 different sites in your training.
@PlaceholdTrent @DbAshby It's not good enough! I am angry on your behalf.
@PlaceholdTrent At the same time we have PA/ACP deployment increasing, working in pseudo-doctor roles whilst actual doctors are sidelined.
