The US Trustee's objection to the Diamond Chapter 11 plan stems in part from the SC overturning the Purdue painkiller bankruptcy because that plan covered third parties that had not agreed to it. Trustee argues this is the case in Diamond

The U.S. Trustee is formally objecting to the confirmation of the Diamond Sports Chapter 11 plan, largely for procedural reasons, in a court filing today. The judge last month didn't seem impressed with the trustee's earlier concerns.

The U.S. Trustee — the arm of the Department of Justice that oversees bankruptcy cases — filed a formal objection to Diamond Sports Group's get-out-of-bankruptcy plan today, over a question of the legal releases the plan includes. The topic has been raised in court before.
