2nd batch of applesauce today. Vinegar/water bath on left, water rinse in the middle, water with a bit lemon juice on the right. Cut out bruises/bad spots, run it through slicer and lots of slices pile up. Two bushels to fill the cooker while it's cooking down. 21 quarts. 🙂

Today's canning project: Chunky applesauce. About 2 bushels of apples to fill the cooker (while cooking down). Made 21 quarts. No poisons... all goodness. Absolutely DEEElicious! Another batch scheduled for tomorrow.

No rain here in 5 weeks and hot. This is a huge totally dehydrated mushroom that fell off a decaying branch on a large maple tree on the front lawn. 16" across.

First (for me) pear harvest off the newer trees. The animals (mostly crows) took the actual first harvest last year. They probably took at least 1/2 bushel this year. Time to make a plan. Now the peeling and canning. No pesticides.

Processed first 3 bushels of early drops from the apple trees. Made 5 gals of cider. Home-made shredder. Refinished vintage press I found. Camp Chef 3-burner stove on the porch is perfect for canning. 190F for 10min, then 10min hot water bath. Yummy!! 🙂
