Nafisa Deserves Recognition: $100,000, a flat, and OON! I read from various reliable sources that Nafisa Abdullah Aminu, a 17-year-old student from Yobe State in Nigeria, has indeed been recognised as the top performer in English language skills globally at the 2025 TeenEagle Global Finals held in London, United Kingdom. She outperformed over 20,000 participants from 69 countries, including native English-speaking nations, to win the competition. We are proud of you, Nafisa. It was also reported that Nafisa is a student of Nigerian Tulip International College (NTIC) in Yobe State. This her achievement has sparked our celebration. There is no doubt that her success can be attributed to her natural talent, dedication, discipline, and support she received from her parents and the schools she attended. Nafisa's achievement highlights her as a shining example of Nigerian students' potential to excel globally with the right opportunities and enabling environment. This kind of feat requires more encouragement from the government. Recently, our women's football team won the Women's Africa Cup in Morocco. Each player received $100,000, a three-bedroom flat, and a national honour of the Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON). In addition, our Nigeria’s women’s national basketball team, D'Tigress, was appreciated following their historic fifth consecutive victory at the 2025 FIBA Women’s AfroBasket Championship for becoming the first African team to qualify for the 2026 FIBA Women’s World Cup Pre-Qualifying Tournament. I strongly recommend that Nafisa deserves $100,000, a three-bedroom flat, and a national honour from the federal government of Nigeria. In addition, her English teacher deserves a reward similar to the one given to the coaching and technical team of the football and basketball players. We must continue to take education very seriously and reward the efforts of our citizens. Interestingly, it is said that education is the passport to future development, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today through education and skills. Finally, it is essential to always temember that education is the foundation upon which we build our future and the future of our country. Let's invite our daughter and the daughter of all Nigerians, along with her English teacher, to the presidency. What is good for the goose is good for the gander. Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, CON. (Majidadin Daular Usmaniyya). Co-Chairman of the African Union's 4th Industrial Revolution Policy Council.

Upon all the looting in the last government that you served, can't you call your colleagues to donate 100k dollars to her? Had it been this your message is coming from an ordinary citizen like the beautiful and brilliant lady who won the laurel, it could have been better. You are from the north east and the immediate minister of communication why can't you give her something from your end? The lady is also from the north east like you. You can do better Ogbeni and stop playing politics with what is meant not to be politics.

Subject: Recognition for Nigerian Scholars Dear Prof. Pantami, I wanted to bring to your attention the list of some Nigerians who have won international awards in the last five years. Here’s a summary of their achievements, compiled from Grok: 1. **Faith Odunsi (2021)** - **Award:** Global Open Mathematics Tournament - **Details:** At just 15 years old, Faith from Ogun State won this prestigious global mathematics competition, surpassing participants from countries like China, the UK, the US, Asia, and Australia. Her victory was celebrated widely on social media and showcased Nigeria’s academic potential. - **Significance:** Faith’s win demonstrated the exceptional mathematical abilities of Nigerian students. 2. **Bukolami Adeyemi and Mmesoma Okonkwo (2023)** - **Award:** British Council Outstanding Cambridge Learner’s Awards - **Details:** These two Nigerian girls were recognized for outstanding performance in the Cambridge International examinations, achieving top grades (A1) in all subjects. Their accomplishments were celebrated among millions of students worldwide. 3. **Elizabeth Korolo and Ajara Abdulsalam (2023)** - **Award:** Stockholm Junior Water Prize Nigeria - **Details:** The two Nigerian schoolgirls were awarded the 2023 Stockholm Junior Water Prize Nigeria for developing a device that converts contaminated water into safe drinking water. Their innovation addresses global water challenges. 4. **Nafisa Abdullah Aminu (2025)** - **Award:** World Best in English Language Skills at the 2025 TeenEagle Global Finals - **Details:** Nafisa, a 17-year-old student from Yobe State, outperformed over 20,000 participants from 69 countries, including native English-speaking nations, during the competition held in London. Representing Nigerian Tulip International College (NTIC), her victory highlighted her proficiency in English, critical thinking, and communication skills. 5. **Awe Ayodeji Lucky (2022)** - **Award:** MEXT Scholarship - **Details:** This 22-year-old Nigerian student secured the highly competitive MEXT scholarship to study in Japan after five years of persistent applications. He aims to focus on modern and futuristic technology to address challenges in Africa. 6. **Oluwademilade David, Omaghomi Sharon, Obodoechi Chiedozie, Favour Chinecherem, Fehintoluwa Erinayo, and Bamidele Sharon (2023)** - **Award:** Outstanding Cambridge Learners Awards - **Details:** These six students from Brookstone School, James Hope College (Lagos), and The Ambassadors Group of Schools received top awards in the June and November 2023 Cambridge examination series, achieving the highest global marks in English as a Second Language (Speaking Endorsement). Prof, I mention this because you were part of the previous administration when the scholars listed above won their awards, and I don't recall you advocating for a cash prize for them. What has changed suddenly? Is it because most team members who won the basketball and football championships are Southerners? And so the president must be bullied or blackmailed into paying 100k? Sir, I’m lost for your advocacy now because it's not on record that you advocated for a cash award for those scholars who won an academic award while you were a minister! Or did you overlook the previous award recipients because they are Southerners? While I applaud the achievements of these young scholars, it is ironic that the push for the 100k awards seems to stem from malice. If you advocate for a policy that recognizes academic excellence, that would be more understandable than to single out one award recipient from the north for compensation from many other Nigerians. You are a noble man and a patriot. Please leave Dawisu to continue pushing his senseless narratives. Best regards, Truth Zone

Your Excellency @ProfIsaPantami, In all honesty, this is a valid call for the need to recognise and reward the Extraordinary Nafisa for emerging as the Top Performer in English language skills globally at the 2025 TeenEagle beating participants from 69 countries. What I can observe however, is the hidden attempt to ridicule the FG and create divisions along ethnic and regional lines. Unlike the @NGSuper_Falcons and @DtigressNG who have chosen football and Basketball as a definite career path in service to their Motherland, Nafisa is still a young Teenager who probably is yet to complete her Secondary education or choose a definite career path. Rather than calling the FG to honour and reward Nafisa with a house and $100k, why can't we advocate and push that the FG honour and reward our Exceptional Nafisa with Mentorship, Full Educational Sponsorship from now till her Doctorate in a country of her choice, Guaranteed Federal job in one of the top Federal Agencies upon completion of her University education while she continues to enjoy full scholarship till her Doctorate if she intends to go that far. This to me, Your Excellency, will be the best honour and reward Nafisa can get at this stage in her life. Again, Your Excellency, with all due respect, permit me to state that no president in the history of Nigeria has shown a commitment to honouring and rewarding persons who have exhibited Exceptional performances on global stages especially when those performances project the positive image of Nigeria, like President @officialABAT. Lastly, Your Excellency, I would in all sincerity, say that I remain one of your biggest admirers and as such, would like to apologise if there is any part of this response where I have sounded disrespectful or irrational. May Allah continue to guide our paths and bless our dear Nation. Once again, congratulations to our Extraordinary Nafisa and I pray that the President and most importantly our mummy @SenRemiTinubu who remains a strong advocate for the well-being and interest of women and the girlchild will see the need to invite Nafisa for the appropriate recognition and reward deserving of her Exceptional performance. Thank you, Your Excellency.

Nafisa Abdullah’s achievement is a powerful reminder that Nigeria’s educational system still has bright sparks. Just a few months ago, a school from Anambra also brought global honour to the country, which proof that our young minds are brilliant and capable on the world stage. What’s urgently needed now is for the government to build on these successes by modernising the curriculum and improving teaching methods, especially in our tertiary institutions. It would be unjust for a student like Nafisa, who received a solid foundation from NTIC, to be limited by outdated systems at the next academic level. Northern Nigeria, especially our young Hausa scholars continues to proudly put Nigeria in the global academic spotlight. It’s a joy to witness. Nafisa deserves national honours and the same level of recognition given to our athletes. Let’s prove that we value brainpower as much as we do sports.

Your call for the girls' recognition is not in good faith. You are only using her name and achievements as a political tool to entrench your dirty and distasteful ethnocentrism. One can even go as far as saying you're portraying blind indirect criticism of a government doing well, but cannot do any good in your eyes.
