Prevention is better than cure. When a child if forced to cut contact with a safe and mentally healthy parent due to pressure from a mentally unhealthy adult this is #coercivecontrol. Early intervention is key so that a child doesn’t reach the point of #emotionalcutoff.

There are still people using the term #CAMS to explain a child rejecting a parent. More specifically a mother. Apparently it would never happen that a child would unjustifiably reject a father. There's no room for feminism when it comes to ungendered forms of abuse.

We shouldn't measure abuse in cuts and bruises - psychological abuse can be just as harmful. Pushing people into trauma can make victims take their own life. Adequate support is needed no matter how much authorities minimise abuse that isn't physical.

Someone with #npd will take a sliver of truth and twist the narrative out of all proportion to turn other people against you. Anyone who hasn't been through something similar is less likely to recognise anyone could be so determinedly hateful.

When I talk about children rejecting a parent with no justifiable reason, I use gender neutral language. Why? Because I recognise the perpetrators of #childpsychologicalabuse are not just males.
