I'm so glad I came to music late as most people find music today boring, too cliche, unexperimental and unoriginal but since I didn't listen to much in my childhood so much sounds new and exciting.

When I want something really neutral and chilled for music I listen to one of John Bisset's albums. They are almost ambient minimalism and really comforting. I'm glad music criticism has moved away from describing bands as "the kind of garage band who should be returned to the garage immediately, preferably with the engine running" but I also find this idea of basically harassing someone for one slightly negative comment really weird.

It isn't my favourite album ever or anything but Tom Grennan's Everywhere I Went Led Me to Somewhere I Didn't Want to Be is a reasonably fun and varied album for a chart pop album.
July listening summary: 109 albums/EPs of which 3 were EPs. 17 albums/EPs rated 4* or higher with my album/EP of the month being How Do I Know if My Cat Likes Me by Lipard, Arkbro & Lindwall & my chart album of the month being . by Kesha. Haven't decided on June's best album yet.
An interesting & overwhelming listen that sounds like an orchestral version of The Cardiacs on drugs or a fairground gone wrong. Just booked two tickets to see Thurston Moore (with Alex Ward) in London. Should be a good night but not used to acts that big.
I don't like having a crush as an adult, it is depressing but I guess is something to do that isn't work and worrying about my mum.

I don't listen to much meloncholy sad romantic music but one of my favourite musicians recommend Oxbow and I'm kind of liking Love Holiday. The lyrics might be about something else just going on tone. Also the guitar reminds me of PiL.
