I’ve asked many people in interviews some form of the question: what is your strength, competitive advantage, superpower? In my career, no one has ever said consistency. It’s ironic because I think consistency is the preeminent superpower - it’s what unlocks everything else.

If narrowing your target market and limiting your use cases materially increases the consistency and magnitude of value delivered to customers, it's usually a good idea. The one thing young companies, in particular, need to protect from diluting is value to the customer.

Consistency seems to be highly underrated. It deserves consideration as the preeminent superpower. Consistency seems to be the foundation of truly superior outcomes - moderate strengths applied consistently routinely outperforms elite strengths applied sporadically.
