55L in 2025 is 25L of 2016 & 12L of 2010. If you earn 12L in 2010, your tax would be 1-2L, if you earn 55L in 2025 your tax is over 15L. Govt don't change tax on inflation. Tax rates are progressive. Rates automatically go up with earning but exemptions & deductions are fixed.
