So, is the argument that if the science of, say, weight loss suggests you need to combine sufficient diet and exercise to get to net weight loss, that we shouldn't mention exercise lest merely hearing about exercise is a dangerous trap and causes the patient not to diet enough?🤔
Wenn ein Schiff ein Leck hat und beinahe sinkt, muss ich auch das Leck stopfen UND das Wasser rauspumpen. Ich kann nicht sagen: Pumpen ist falsch, das suggeriert bloß, das Leck könne bleiben!" Genauso brauchen wir CO2-Emissionsstopp UND alle Zusatzmaßnahmen, die hilfreich sind.
Immer wenn Klimamaßnahmen wie CarbonCapture oder Erhöhung der Albedo vorgeschlagen werden, heißt es: "Pfui! Das ist nur eine Ausrede, um weiter CO2 auszustoßen!" Das ärgert mich. Natürlich müssen wir CO2-Ausstoß stoppen. Aber zusätzlich werden wir noch weitere Maßnahmen brauchen.

The Paris Agreement has an ambition of 1.5°C, IPCC has said this requires ~50% reduction in CO₂ emissions by 2030 & net zero in early 2050s. I am sure this is a scientifically interesting request, but I wonder how policy relevant it is now? Biggest issue is raising ambition?
