I might be reaching with this guess but since he likes western comics then Horikoshi maybe was inspired by Star(Ripley Ryan) for Star and Stripe. Ripley is infused with a reality stone and the quirk New Order is a nerfed version of it. Just a toss up, pretty sure I'm wrong.
