Good thread by Josh. Also important to recognize “neighbourhood character” isn’t about character of built environment but (perceived) character of people. We know this because there’s no max house size, ie nothing to prevent single family houses as big as du-, tri-, fourplexes.

Here’s a neat little feature of the HTA most people have no clue about. Almost all intersections have legal crosswalks with all the same requirements of marked ones. Just pretend there’s a lil yellow/red light there (and stop, to be clear).

St. John’s Council amazes me. Denying an proposal for an new restaurant in a former retail location because they thought it would be too busy & too many cars compared to the previous business. Only city that will deny a new business based on them being too successful.

Why do @MetrobusTransit and @CityofStJohns seem to think the journey begins and ends on the bus? Clearing bus stops should be a minimum. Passengers need a safe landing out of traffic and slush spray to rally before/after tackling the “sidewalk.”
