Heading into my final week of my last adults #placement and today was the day I submitted my dissertation 🥳 8000 words, 102 pages in total about caregivers decision-making for their deaf children’s communication mode! Another step closer to becoming an #slt 🩵

The new EHCP statistics: 22/23 are out- 📈A total of 344,883 children *identified* with SCLN needs. The primary need in schools. There are only approx 18.3k SALTs in the UK. Unknown what % paeds working with this pop but there’s not enough of us. #devlangdis @RCSLT @NAPLIC

Got to celebrate the small wins where you can ✨ Checked a STAP against the answers we practiced in class and I got ALL the transcription correct apart from one speech sound! I am so proud of myself & hope this is the breakthrough I need with my phonetic transcription 🥳🤞🏻

Should’ve been starting my first placement today in a school, however my flat mate has unfortunately tested positive 😕 PCR done this morning - fingers crossed for a negative result & I can get out on placement tomorrow #slt2b #slt #mysltday
