@ELonMuskNewssX Yes. I agree with this. It would get rid of the excuse of needing of stretching out voting to several weeks instead of one day. We could then limit absentee ballots to the very needy.

The military deployed overseas cannot vote in person. The elderly and physically disabled would have great difficulty standing in line for hours in extreme heat, cold, heavy rain or snow. They could literally die. Hospitalized individuals would not be able to vote in person. People in nursing homes and physical rehabilitation residents would not be able to vote in person even if it was a holiday. There are several professions where a holiday would not make it possible for them to vote in person such as surgeon, hospital nurse, long haul truckers, out of state businessmen and women, airline pilots, stewardess, air traffic controllers, police officers, prison guards, even politicians like Donald Trump who typically vote by absentee ballot would not benefit by making election day a holiday. I think it's not a bad idea for a lot of people but too many citizens who have to work holidays would be stripped of their right to vote.
