Unfortunately there is isolated but severe winterkill at some golf courses in Michigan. Appears to be primarily in low areas where ice was estimated to be in place for 5 weeks. Warm temperatures next week will help assess the extent of damage and recovery. #WinterTurf

Thank you for writing this @MSUTurf. We got ice from Jan 17 thaw/freeze. The Feb 1 melt cleared most of the original ice (hopefully resetting the clock). Waited for the cold nights to pass, now we will remove snow from shaded greens and apply black sand prior to weekend warm up.
