I joined @WESH for a great discussion about Starship coming to the Space Coast, NASA HQ, and the $10 billion that we secured for NASA in the Big Beautiful Bill. These investments mean more American innovation, and more high-paying jobs for Florida’s families!
SpaceX’s $1.8B Starship expansion on Florida’s Space Coast is a win for American innovation—600 high-value jobs and a massive leap in aerospace dominance. But let’s not pretend this happened because D.C. bureaucrats suddenly got efficient. Musk’s relentless drive cut through the red tape swamp that still delays Starship’s environmental approvals. Florida’s leadership created the conditions for this investment, proving that when government gets out of the way, private sector giants like SpaceX propel America forward. Now audit every dime of that $10B NASA package to ensure it’s fueling rockets, not bureaucratic bloat.
The progress being made on the Space Coast is truly inspiring it’s a testament to how vision and investment can drive innovation and create tangible opportunities for communities. Seeing NASA and private space exploration thrive together not only strengthens our leadership in space but also builds a brighter future right here on Earth.
@RepHaridopolos @WESH If the NASA budget ends up being $10B we may as well shutter the agency and cede the solar system to the Chinese right now. The United States is the preeminent aerospace republic on Earth. We don’t just hold first place we invented it, this budget will forfeit that rightful place
