Strong storm pushing into Columbia county. The worst located near Hudson, tracking towards Claverack with gusty winds, torrential rain, frequent lightning and likely some small hail. Take shelter immediately, this storm has a history of producing damage. news10.com/weather

Severe thunderstorm warning for Columbia county until 5:30pm... Gusts to 60 mph and and quarter size hail are possible as this drifts to the southeast at about 20mph. The worst of the storm is near Coxsackie, heading towards Stockport.

First call snow map! Valley locations little to no accumulations expected. The higher you go the more snow potential you have, especially in the Catskills.

Two part storm on the way, rain & snowmelt will amount to 1-2" of liquid! Those of you where it is cold enough, mainly above 1000 feet will see snow, but the rain beforehand and the snowmelt will come out to be somewhere between 2-2.5"! Very beneficial! Snow map coming soon!

There is an elevated fire risk for the shaded counties below Wednesday... Relative humidity levels will drop below 40%, winds will be gusty from 20-30mph, and with the recent dry weather, fire can quickly catch and spread. Be vigilant Wednesday afternoon. news10.com/weather

Just about everyone getting rain, but WOW! Capital Region picking up 2 to even close to 4" of rain in a very short amount of time which lead to flash flood concerns... The heaviest of the rain is shifting east and the flooding should continue to recede!

Smoke is expected to linger into the day on Friday. This could lead to some air quality issues, in particular into the Green Mountains and the Berkshires. Air Quality Alerts go into effect at midnight tonight and continue through midnight Friday night for those areas.
