When you meet a swordsman, draw your sword: Do not recite poetry to one who is not a poet.
@RobertGreene It may be wise to recite poetry only if the opponent shows up as a swordsman rather than a poet because he expects you to brandish swords over poetry. In that case, poetry can avert a potentially tragic sword fight, but not all poetry 😉
@RobertGreene Could you please explain the context behind this? The reason I ask is because the last thing I would want to do is battle somebody on their terms. If he's a swordsman, he'll be better with a sword than me.
@RobertGreene When faced with a swordsman, meet them with equal readiness; adapt your approach to the situation rather than wasting words where they hold no weight.
@RobertGreene All of my scientific posts on Twitter. 😆
