Last night in Brooklyn: DA asked for $1500 bail on someone accused of stealing 4 bars of SOAP, knowing that bail would likely mean he’d miss the first day of a back to work program that started today. The person supports 5 kids btwn ages 1-10. Thankfully judge agreed to release.

... People have been rightfully horrified at Dylann Roof, but there's an uncomfortable similarity with ordinary soldiers who massacre civilians in the name of some bullshit theory they've unquestioningly accepted, e.g. "blowing up this family here protects Americans back home."
