I often find myself suggesting to God all the ways He could surely fix my circumstances. But I’m learning that God loves me too much to do things my way. His plan is always better even if I can’t understand or see it clearly as it’s unfolding.

When I desperately want to know why, I remember, Jesus had all the answers and he still wept. Maybe having the answers for why hurt happens wouldn’t be as comforting as we think it would be. Maybe not understanding is what grows our faith.

On the hard days, let's remember... God will restore us. He will strengthen us. He will make us strong in the midst of our feeling weak. And there’s a perfecting of us that’s happening in the process. There is purpose even in this. There is hope in the midst of our pain.

Worship reminds our trembling hearts and shaky knees that our God is mighty, our God is loving, and our God is more than able. It both quiets us and strengthens us. And then it prepares us for what lies ahead. Yes. Worry less. Worship more. It truly is the best battle plan.

Today, we can wrestle with feelings of not being good enough or we can trust that God already knows how much we need Him. He's not asking us to do this life without Him. And with Jesus, we are better than good enough because He steps in and fulfills what we cannot do on our own.

God is working things out. He’s not far away. He is right here with us. We need to cling to this hope. Believe this hope. Live out this hope. Even if our prayers aren’t answered in the way and the timing we want. Even when this process feels messy. We will trust that God is good.

I want to spend less time asking God for answers and more time listening to what He has to say. No suggestions. No solutions. Simply my heart listening for His voice. And one of the best ways I’ve found to hear from Him? Spending time in His Word.

Imperfect progress.... the journey doesn’t have to look exactly like we thought it would to be good. It can be full of highs & lows but still be so very good. Imperfect is a guarantee. Progress is what we can shoot for. And we can choose to see the good in the midst of it all.

If we allow our thoughts to be toxic, that negativity will overflow into our words, our actions, and especially our reactions. Proverbs 23:7 reminds us, “For as he thinks in his heart, so is he." A good reminder for us to check what we’re allowing to run through our minds today.

We have to fight the urge to expect our version of God’s good timing, God’s good provision, and God’s good protection to match what we script for our lives. God Himself is good. And that means His plans are good, His ways are good, and we can trust Him at all times.
