I saw an idea recently that I thought was lovely…public libraries that are open late every night so ppl can socialize, as an alternative to bars or sitting alone at home. Would be especially perfect for introverts to socialize comfortably and for older people who are lonely.
To all the kindred spirits and book lovers who liked this idea and weren’t negative, thank you. You give me hope. ❤️ I’ve always dreamt of opening a bookstore/cafe where I can bond with strangers over Tolstoy and C.S. Lewis and Austen…but perhaps I will first try to get something like this started in my community/local library & let you all know how it goes. Also, I have a collection of short stories and a novel in the works so please check back for updates if you’re interested :)
@Rquietlyreading Such a great idea. We need to make it happen!
@Rquietlyreading Brit Lit Night! American Classics Night! GOT Night! What fun! 🤗 📚
@Rquietlyreading My high school just got rid of its library, just as we realized because of AI that we needed to abolish computers and go back to handwriting and using printed sources.
@Rquietlyreading I’ve wanted London to have something like this for a very long time. Many new bars open without hesitation - would be great if there was a new wave of places that catered to the night owls that wanted to meet likeminded souls without the cocktails.
@Rquietlyreading By true nature of Introverts, we prefer to remain at home - alone. And seniors like their sleep and quite early. However this is a good idea for night owls and young adults as alternative to the bar scene.
