Hank Gathers collapsed and died while playing basketball in 1990. Today I was super lucky to meet his friend, @bokimblenba who is working to advocate for #SCA survival. Dr. Anoop Singh is a rockstar in this #CPR and #AED world as well. Working together to change outcomes.❤️

@EM_RESUS In July I had a v-fib arrest without warning while running in a park. I am alive (and still working as an ER doc) because for 20 minutes I got quality CPR and was then defibrillated with a public access AED. I can’t stress enough the importance everyone learning CPR.

2.5 years ago this wonderful RN took care of me in the CCU after my cardiac arrest... she walked with me when I needed help with my O2 tank, and cheered me on when I got frustrated. Today we are working together in our Neuro ICU. Oh, full circle 💜💜💜
